Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about physio-led posture and bra fitting with Align and Uplift — New Zealand’s first PostureFitting service.
-
PostureFitting is a pioneering physiotherapy-led framework developed in Ireland that links posture and bra support. The approach teaches women both ‘active support’ (posture cues you apply yourself) and ‘passive support’ (a bra that actually fits). The result is an immediate and lasting difference in how you move, look, and feel. Posture Matters, the Irish organisation behind PostureFitting, works with partner physios across Ireland, the UK, and now New Zealand.
-
A shop fitting measures your size — that’s all. A PostureFitting consultation is a full physiotherapy assessment. You’ll receive a postural analysis, personalised posture cues, and in-depth education on how to fit yourself in any bra going forward. You’ll also understand what features and styles your body specifically needs — knowledge that stays with you for life, regardless of how your body changes.
-
No referral is needed. You can book directly through the website or by contacting Marianne. The service is available to any woman or teenage girl.
-
Yes. The 1-hour online consultation covers everything included in the face-to-face session — postural analysis, before-and-after photos, posture cues, and bra fitting education — all via video call. Many women are surprised by how well this translates online. Online consultations remove the barrier of distance and are available to women anywhere in New Zealand.

This service is for any woman or teenage girl who wears a bra — regardless of breast size, age, or fitness level. Marianne works with women from teenagers through to those in their 70s. You do not need to be in pain or have a specific problem to benefit. The most common reasons women come include: breasts as a barrier to exercise, body changes after pregnancy or breastfeeding, menopause-related size changes, years of ill-fitting bras, neck and back pain, and simply wanting to finally understand how a bra should fit.
-
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons women seek this service. Pregnancy and breastfeeding often change breast size, shape, and tissue significantly. Many women find the bras that used to fit no longer work, but don’t know where to start. The consultation will help you understand your current shape, what has changed, and how to find bras that actually support you now.
-
Absolutely. Breast discomfort and movement is one of the biggest barriers to physical activity for women — and one of the most under-discussed. Finding a sports bra that provides proper support can be genuinely life-changing for women who have given up running, gym classes, or sport because of bounce, pain, or self-consciousness. This is addressed specifically in your consultation.
-
Very common. Breast size and shape often change during perimenopause and menopause, and many women find their usual size or style no longer works for them. The consultation will help you understand what has changed and how to find bras that fit your body now.
