Are Your Bra Straps Digging Into Your Shoulders?

Are your bra straps digging in?

Most of the support from your bra comes from the band that goes around your trunk; this may surprise you. Your straps do provide support but a much smaller proportion. If your straps are digging into your shoulders and especially if you have grooves as a result; it is likely due to your band being too big and therefore not providing you with support. If you are not getting support from your band then your straps are providing the majority of support which is not what their job is. As a result, they pull down on your shoulders and can be very uncomfortable. Ensuring that your band optimally fits you is important, so you are getting support from your bra, and your straps are not digging into your shoulder.

Here are a few tips regarding your strap position. Straight straps provide standard support, straps that are crossed over at the back provide more support and uplift of your breasts and straps that are connected at the back provide the most support and uplift. If your straps are really an issue for you, ensure your band fits you optimally and get the straps off your shoulders by crossing them or wearing a bra where they are connected at the back.
